PROTAGONIST/ANTAGONIST
Protagonist:The hero or character of a literary work. in accomplishing his or her objective, the protagonist is hindered by some apposing force either human, animal, or natural.
The protagonist of the story is ralph. he is the leader of the island making sure in his power that they are rescued. however what is keeping him for succeeding his goal is jack he wants to be the leader but yet is to obsessed with hunting to even bother to try and get them rescued.

In lord of the flies jack is the antagonist. he always tries to get the people of the island on his side weather they like him or not. most would go with him bye the end of the book and then others were forced to join. he always has to go against ralph's wishes ralph wants to be rescued all jack wants is to hunt and have food to eat which is important but which is more important being rescued or killing pigs.
